JWD makes loads for the Atlas ballast cars. #1420 is a gray ballast load. They have notches for the inside bracing. The loads sit too high for my liking, so I increased the depth of the notches and beveled and trimmed the ends shorter so that the loads sit lower in the cars.

Speaking of ballast hopper cars, has anyone built a load for the Atlas ACF
ballast hopper car? It appears to be slightly tricky because of the inside
bracing.
