They also tended to swap numbers around for no apparent reason. The 10000-64999 series cars do NOT seem to be the same as the 60000-60399 or even the 60000-60999 cars that pop up in the GARX listings from the 1930s and 1940s; their stated outside dimensions are all different.

      Some leasing companies did not always list numbers of cars in all of their ORER entries. GATC was certainly among them. Whether this reflected changing leases or cars out of service or what, I don't know.
