I am lettering it for the late '50s.

In a related note to my first question, when they replaced the Duryea
underframes, was a conventional underframe installed or was just the
cushioning function made inoperative?

What era do you intend to letter it for? The Duryea underframes on these
cars were replaced in the early 1960s.
