A while back there was a discussion about painting freight cars. I took pictures of my method in case it helps somebody out. I prefer to paint and weather the whole car at once. The holders are made of an old metal coat hanger, a piece of broom stick, a length of 3/16 brass angle and 6 2-56 male/female pc board stand-offs. This allows me to mount the car to the holder and turn it any which way as I paint/weather it. For different truck spacings there are different holes in the angle. A couple of hooks in the ceiling where I am working hold the cars in place (or as the picture shows I am crass enough to hang them off the chandelier in what should be the dining room.)
