and there was reference to a 1906-1909 time frame, the note in Railway Age 1907 volume 43 page 887 may be pertinent - "Solvay Process Company, Syracuse, N. Y., reported in The Railway Age of May 17 as being in the market for 10 hopper bottom steel cars of 100,000 pounds capacity, has placed this order with the Standard Steel Car Company."
