I was contacted by an other S Scale manufacturer, Bill Wade of BTS, about the
Atlas O Scale Trainman CPR 52' 6" Steel Flat Car. He says that Atlas claims it
is a CPR prototype that was built in 1953.
Here's the part that has him intrigued. The boards don't go across the car but
go the along the length of the car like a checker board.

Based on a MM Nov. 2002 aticle, Bill knows this is in fact correct for 99 of 800
and I think he wants to produce this car in S Scale. What Bill would like to
know is what the deck of the other 701 in the series looked like.
