Armand, this question seems to come up periodically. The best information
I've seen is that Athearn's model is most similar to the B&O quad hoppers
of the 1920's, although many railroads had similar ARA quad hoppers from
that era including MP, MKT, NH, C&O, AT&SF, B&M, and probably others.
