The Chesapeake and Ohio historical society has recently published a new book, "Chesapeake and Ohio Freight Cars 1937-1946", by Carl Shaver, Al Kresse, and myself, that should be of interest to many steam era freight car modelers and historians. This 224 page hardcover book covers all 77 classes of freight car that were on the C&O roster between 1937 and 1946, including cars that were built in the early decades of the century and cars that lasted into the late decades of the century. The book is printed on coated paper and includes over 300 drawings and photos. Some of you may have seen a similar book, published by the COHS in the 1980s. This book, while based on that book, is almost entirely new, with all new photos, and many more of them, and a lot more information. It has also been extended in scope, covering the years from 1937 to 1946 that were not included in the original book.
