The July 1940 and April 1942 ORERs show ten (10) MN&S 36 ft box cars, numbered 2501 - 2510. XM IL 36-0, IW 8-6, IH 8-0, 2448 CUFT, CAPY 80000, doors 6-0W x 7-6H. The listings include a statement that “Freight cars owned are used in interchange service”.
July 1942, January 1943 and January 1951 ORERs do not list cars and have the statement that “Freight cars owned are not used in commercial service”. The January 1953 ORER (the most recent copy I have) shows 100 steel box cars, series MNS 1000 - 1099, XM IL 40-6, IW 9-2, IH 10-6, 3898 CUFT, CAPY 100000, doors 6-0W x 9-7H. The City of Vancouver Archives has photos (all within the time frame of this list) of the following PS-1s in the Walter E Frost collection: MNS 1007 Vancouver, BC 1953 Aug 07 BLT 11-52 http://searcharchives.vancouver.ca/uploads/r/null/9/2/926443/b6d59694-ef8b-4ac2-a201-66e778e39a4a-A28840.jpg MNS 1192 Vancouver, BC 1955 Jul 10 BLT 3-54 http://searcharchives.vancouver.ca/uploads/r/null/9/2/926479/8be34b50-0d90-4bf7-ba5a-93315dcd0986-A28838.jpg MNS 1283 Vancouver, BC 1958 Feb 02 BLT 11-57 http://searcharchives.vancouver.ca/uploads/r/null/9/2/926452/d6ce1db5-d26b-4aa9-be11-2663e252bb1f-A28839.jpg Cheers, Greg Kennelly Burnaby, BC |
