But I don't see any 5000 series numbers in the April 43 or October 45 ORERs.  The interior dimensions match the 65000 series from those years, which curiously increased from 493 to 550 cars.  Can any of you New England experts lend an explanation?
 


I'm not a BAR expert, but a look through ORERs of the period shows the 65000-65649 series cars being renumbered 5000-5649 between 1950 and 1955.  I believe 65000-65499 were built by Magor in 1938, and 65500-65649 were built in 1945.
