Not trade literature, but a 1947 Scientific American article http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-physics-of-disaster/ Tim O'Connor I've never seen a discussion of this in the traditional trade literature, likely because it only affected passenger trains, and then, the locomotive, being an iron tank filled with water mounted above a rather tall running gear, would have been affected before the train, so your best bet would be to search period literature for the effects of CoG on locomotives.
