I came across this image on Flickr in one of Earl Leatherberry's collection of railroad photos. This is a tank car that has been given new life as some sort of oil storage tank in a rail yard.

I noticed that the tank itself is of single rivet row construction.

My question is, when did construction of single rivet row tank cars cease?
