It is clear that KATO's mgmt (not necessarily KATOUSA) haven't read
any of the popular industrial mgmt books like "the Goal"... smaller
batch quantities can equal higher sales.
So, what was KATO's intended car to ride the 70-ton Barber trucks?
Surely they didn't tool them for us freight car geeks....

Not so. The trees are intermolded so the factory would have to
a worker to cut apart each shot to separate the descrete parts needed
for each car.... realistically, much too labor intensive to do and a
nightmare to package. You can just write off Kato being in the
car business unless they change their management philosophy.
