Since there’s no hobby shop carrying model railroad inventory in my area, I’ve been ordering all of my model railroad supplies from HO Hobbies since Youngwood Model Railroad Supply closed. Bill gives a good discount (typically 25%) and the turnaround is pretty fast for in stock items if you use PayPal (longer if personal check, not credit cards). Of course, you have to plan ahead ; )

Guess I didn’t say I bought a 1/2 oz bottle of Model Master acrylic. These ‘additives’ you talk of? Are they available at Hobby Lobby? Closest hobby shop with a good paint selection is 2 1/2 hrs away.
