Back in the day when Chrysler Corp was the only one using all steel bodies, the GM dealers were supplied with a bunch of thin wall steel tubing. The salesman would give one to the prospect and ask him to try to bend it. Well, being of small diameter and be thin walled as mention, it was easy for the customer to bend the tube. Then the salesman would give the prospect another tube this time he would stick a wooded dowel in it and then ask him to bend it again. Of course the prospect could not bend it with the dowel inside.
Morale of the story; auto salesmen of the 1930's would be politicians today.
