Gene, some people email improperly formatted HTML documents and so all this "metadata" gets displayed in your email reader because it doesn't recognize that it's part of the message description, rather than the message itself. In my Eudora email software, I can "right mouse click" on messages and if they are HTML I see a "view source" in the dialog box. I can also click on "View in browser" to see the message as it would appear if I were reading it on a web page. In your YAHOO group settings, there should be an option for you to view TEXT ONLY or to allow HTML documents. Yahoo used to support this, but maybe it has broken down with the gradual neglect that accompanies Yahoo groups these days. It's ultimately a Yahoo problem. They have not kept their software up to date so the old software is tripping up more and more frequently when it encounters unrecognized data. My Eudora lets me clean up incoming messages very easily - click swipe delete click - and the garbage is gone.
