Getting Blasted—no that that kind

The boys at the Clearwater Car Shops decided to forgo their usual French Press brewed coffee and modeling time this morning and instead fortified only with cold cereal organized the necessary resources to Media Blast with Baking Soda twelve boxcars. Given the catholic nature of the CCS, styrene was represented by Atlas, Branchline, IMWX, InterMountain, and Tichy while Speedwitch and Sunshine represented resin. Railroads as far east as NYNH&H. P&LE, and DL&W and from the west the NP are included with the midwest represented by KO&G, Monon, I-GN, and M&StL. "Ya'LL" roads included the Georgia (2), TN&O and Southern.

Operating at 60PSI the CCS's compressor could not keep its tank filled so it operated continuously but with no complaint. The guys used one 4 lb. box of Arm & Hammer's best and needed to open a second box to finish. They also etched several pairs of trucks, two Kadee brake gears and several Kadee bracket grabs sprues. The boys had forgotten that the Chief Mechanical Engineer had purchased a dedicated hose with quick coupling and were pleased to see it and use it. Now the two Tichy kits are ready to receive Archer Surface Detail decals after the receiving surfaces are prepped with Future/Pledge or whatever they are calling it now. Others will move on to be primed with Badger's Stynylrez grey. All-in-all a good day at the CCS.
