Harrisburg Car Co.'s Exhibit

A search on Wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rolling_stock_manufacturers#United_States ) shows that the Harrisburg Car Manufacturing Co. was active from 1853-1890. University of Pennsylvania libraries have other neat photos of their cars online at http://www.library.upenn.edu/collections/rbm/photos/harrisburgcar/ . You might also find this surviving 1888 tank car of interest: http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34090 .

They apparently left railroad car building, but made other things, and became Harrisburg Steel Corporation in 1935. The company continues today as a railway/industrial service company under the name HARSCO: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harsco .
