Nice work as always, Bill, but it raises a prototype question on the travels of NC&StL hoppers.
In visiting with old friend and noted New Haven modeler Bill Aldrich last week such a hopper was
found on his pike and had not been noticed before. This prompted a question as to how often, if
ever, a NC&StL hopper was likely to be seen in New England. Bill advised that a coal dealer in
Westerly, RI, where he lived for years before 1996, used to receive coal in such cars. So there is
one instance and even that surprises me. Does anyone know of other appearances of NC&StL
hoppers in New England, especially in northern New England?
