I am failing to see any problem with hauling this girder laid flat.  If it were "taller", there could arguably be side clearance problems, but it's not.

I do sort of question having it blocked so high, though.  I would think half the height would do.  I would be a bit concerned that, if the car came to a quick stop, that the mass of the girder would cause the blocking to rotate "forward".  Hopefully, the diagonal tie downs at the appropriate end would keep that from happening.
