Description:

"Ten men in overcoats and hats stand by a Northern Pacific Railway railroad car in Seattle, WA, with the sign on its side: This train of 27 cars loaded with canned salmon from P.E. Harris and Co., Seattle, WA."

Doug Harding commented on another group, "An early reefer built with a deep steel underframe, at a time when many did not trust the steel underframe to hold the load, so designs called for the tried and proven truss rods as additional (and unnecessary) fail safe measure."
