The Casper refinery was owned by Standard Oil of Indiana, so the presence of UTLX tank cars is easily understood.

Very cool photos.  They are all UTLX cars.

In the first one, from left to right

UTLX 72152         8000 gallon GAT Type 19 – Tangent HO model

UTLX 13215         6500 gallon Class X

UTLX 2171           6500 gallon Class X-3 single dome car that has been converted to a three compartment car

UTLX ??                10000 gallon ACF built Type 21 four course tank – P2K model

The second photo, continues to the left from UTLX 72152 and includes

UTLX 76436         Another 8000 gallon GAT

Three UTLX 10000 gallon Class X cars

Photos: Assorted Tank Cars

Two 1948 photos from the Newberry Library taken at Casper, Wyoming:

In this first photo, does the three-compartment tank car on the right look as if it was rebuilt from a single-compartment car?

These photos can be enlarged a bit.
