Well, this IS a double sheathed car, and I would surmise that if you removed the exterior sheathing, you’d see the bolts holding the framing for the slope sheets there in the interior sheathing . . .

I wonder if they had internal slope sheets. There's no exterior sign of them but it seems they would be necessary in order to clear the car. Maybe the roof hatches, or at least a roof hatch, was big enough for a person to get in to clear the car interior . . . but no external sign of that, either, that I can see.
