Agreed on the similarities to Helium tank cars. I can't help but wonder if the government didn't look to the Pintsch cars for inspiration.
Doubtful except in a very general sense. The Pintsch gas was carried at only a few atmospheres pressure. Helium, even in the earliest day, was carried at 100 atmospheres or more.
