Probably the highlighting added was so the section of fence would show up when printed in a newspaper.  The real alteration was likely in the facts…the fence section looks to be about 10 feet long and it probably was a switching miscalculation rather than a “180 car train” careening into an industrial siding…

The streetcar tracks must have paralleled the siding as there is no evidence of one crossing the end of the of the building.
