Bob, Those are Fe-U 50' SS Automobile cars. Within a couple years of this photo, the 500 cars had their left hand doors sealed converting them to single door box cars. When initially converted, the only external differences were removal of the "AUTOMOBILE" lettering, a new car number and class stencil.
