I found an interesting photo last night in the Sanders Northern Pacific book on page 2. The photo was taken by Tom Gildersleeve in November 1964 in Yakima Canyon between Ellensburg and Yakima and shows #606, the Auburn WA-Laurel MT daily freight, with two PCRR gons apparently loaded with coal (the lading is black and heaped above the sides). This is beyond Central Washington State College (now university) so probably the loads were not going to the power plant there unless they were going to Yakima to come back in a local.
