wood sheathed boxcars
I remember in the early '60's watching GN grain trains head to Duluth
through central Minnesota. Single sheathed boxcars were plentiful. We used to watch the built date to look for the oldest car in the train. As I recall, boxcars from the 20's and 30's were common. I suppose it is even possible that some of these were too old for interchange.
