It was a total goof. At the time I emailed Paul Graf and asked him what the prototype for the car was -- he replied it was C&O!! That alone speaks volumes about Atlas's attention to prototype accuracy.
Has anyone else noticed this. Is the 10 gusset a tooling error that was corrected or what?? I have checked the RP Cyc #1,2,4 & 8 on the twin hoppers and dont recall an offset with the 10 gusset arangement.
