LOL! I tried buying Athearn blue boxes from Walthers recently; apparently,
Athearn has stopped selling the boxes separately. Pity; the medium ones were
great for storing built up P2K diesels.

However, my point was that the box is (all things considered) a minor
expense in the cost of a kit, compared to the CAD work, CAM die cutting,
purchasing of injection molding equipment, payroll, facilities, etc.

I was QUITE impressed by my visit to Intermountain's facilities a few years
ago.

I do have one question though. Would you still buy the "bare bones" kit
if I told you the price would be no different from a kit in a box with
a more formal set of instructions?
