This is a picky point, but Ed Mines wrote:

I don't think this is true, that is, that ERIE
personnel called them "Diamondbugs." I am pretty
sure that the late Jack Grasso, who wrote the book
"Diamondbugs" coined that term himself. AFAIK,
ERIE men called them "gas cars," or
"gas-electrics."

Let's not be creating newly minted historical
facts here . . .
