My apologies for offending anyone on the list or wasting bandwidth. Since the cars were built prior to 1960, I thought it might be more germane to this list than others.

Blair, please join the BBFCL and post messages like this there. That group is very interested in the period from the mid 1950's through the mid 1970's when there was a fascinating mix of old and new and lots of weird deployments as you noted. I for one enjoyed the information you posted and found in very interesting.
