There weren't any round-corner ends made until 1939-40, so the 1937 cars must have had square corners. The problem with the R-40-23 is that it has a more modern rib pattern than the 4/4 early dreadnaughts we're talking about. If you want to email the pictures to me, I'll post them in the STMFPH Files.
