A 4'
length of 0.008" tinned copper wire, doubled,
with one
doubled end in a bench vise and the other spun
in a pin vise
until the desired "links per inch" was reached,
gave me
enough "chain"
Tom, that's certainly better than the process I
used to go through to get a chain sufficiently
small in visual diameter, squeezing each link with
pliers so as to get oval links . . . .

Took bloody forever.
