There is no difference in length between the X28 and X28/X28A.
There is a photo of X28a 1223455 in the NMRA Charles collection that close to a straight on side view. I used the perspective command in Photoshop and printed the photo to 1/2 in scale. I measured the following approximate dimensions from the perspective corrected photo: - Wide panel next to door: 4 ft 4 in - Next, narrow panel: 2 ft 6 in
