Thank`s to all that answered my Rock Island box/caboose question.All that answered were a big help.Another question.We were discussing this on another site.When did the US Railroads discontinue the practice of installing the pole holes on the end of freight cars.You know they would move a car in an adjoining track with a wood pole.A vary unsafe practice.This must have happened in the 50`s or 60`s.Thank`s
