Re: FW: [NP Modelers] Re: New NP models coming

Yes, I believe they are. I had these on the radar before I had heard about Aaron's plans. For the time being, I won't expend the effort on them. However, if Aaron has the same problems with shipping that he has had in the past, I will produce my own versions. Since Tom Madden will be casting them, a good supply of castings should not be an issue. If they are not the same prototype, then I will continue. I have had access to phenomenal builder's photos of these flats that I hate to have go unused. The next offering after the Southern gons will be the NP 50' 1-1/2 door single sheathed auto cars. I know many people have been waiting on the Southern gons. I should have the parts to assemble into the one-piece body by Saturday. Formal "launch" of the kit is tentatively scheduled for the Savannah meet in early April.

Earlier in the week we had a short discusson about the Aaron Gjermundson NP
stockcar and flatcar kits. I have just gotten word from Aaron that these
masters have been slightly modified to make them easier to produce and
should be on their way to the commercial resin caster he has found to work
with in the next couple days. I have personally had some contact with the
resin caster he's working with, and this person is a professional with a
good reputation. He's done some stuff for Martin Lofton at Sunshine, so you
know his quality has to be pretty good. There is a good chance we could see
these kits back on the market in a few months. As I noted, I'm sure Aaron's
business practices have changed a lot from his earlier experiences, and I
know he has some serious regrets about his previous efforts.

If you want to know more, Aaron has created a web site to keep people
informed about what's happening. It's at .
