not the best, I have interpreted some reporting marks to be as follows.

What box car load is "shorts"
What tank car load is "Dist"

Shorts = grain - A lower quality - the "short" kernals
Some processes need kernals of a certain size, oatmeal being one.
Dist = Distilate - close to kerosene, about 1 cut below.
