The Second Annual St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modeler�s Meet will be held Saturday, August 20th at the Gateway Convention Center, One Gateway Center Collinsville, IL 62234. Collinsville is 12 miles east of metro St. Louis on I-55/70. The heart of this event is your model display. Bring your models, finished or unfinished, for display. All scales, gauges are welcome; attendees are encouraged to bring locomotives, rolling stock, structures and any other models pertaining to prototype railroading. There will be no contests or awards. The purpose of the meet is to share information, present your best modeling techniques, and meet modelers from the entire St. Louis metro area and beyond. In addition, presentations and demonstrations by nationally-recognized modelers historians from the St. Louis area are scheduled. See below for an updated presentation schedule. John & Dan Kohlberg � ICG East St. Louis Operations, Ca. 1970 ICG gurus John and Dan Kohlberg detail ICG�s exciting railroad operations in the East St. Louis area, circa 1970. Stu Thayer and John Welther � TBD Nationally-recognized modeler and author Stu Thayer and St. Louis icon John Welther team up to present a one-hour discussion on a diesel locomotive detailing topic. Ed DeRouin � Baggage, Mail and Express � Unmasked! Prolific author and modeler Ed DeRouin describes head-end passenger operations with notes on modeling and recreating prototypical head-end operations. Ted Culotta � TBD Steam-era historian and author of the proclaimed �Essential Freight Cars� series in RMC, Ted Culotta will present a one-hour discussion on a popular steam-era topic. Time Permitting: Ben Hom � Modeling PRR�s X29 Box Car Fleet Pat Wider - Weighing Freight Cars, Track Scales, & Scale Test Cars Note: Presentations begin at 9:30 and will run throughout the day.
