Re: CP ore cars:373001-373129 and 375000-375399 series

PBowers <waiting@...>

I was wondering if by chance, the Car Cyclopedias for the 1907-15 era might have had plans for these cars. When built they were in the 53000-53129 and 55000-55399 series with the latter cars at least being built by Dominion Car and Foundry, Montreal.

Thanks for any assistance.

I'm looking for diagrams for CP ore cars in the series 373001-373129 and
375000-375399 (odd #''d only) built in the 1907-9 era.

These cars are very similar with the lower cars having an overall length of
22-7 and the latter, 26-6. Both cars appear to dump between the center
beams. A cross-section would be quite helpful in verifying the method of
dumping. The cars disappeared from the roster about 1965 for the smaller
cars and the larger ones lasted until the mid to late 60's. John Riddell's
CP colour guide states 63 of the larger cars were on the roster in 65.

Any detailed info on these cars would be helpful.

Thanks!!
