Hello Mark Heiden,

All of the photos that we have of this series of PS-1s have the

running board, which has the round holes. The brake step is a

round holes.
Also note that there are 3000 cars in this series and with that

in a lot it certainly is "possible" that there is more than one

running board used, like they do with hand brakes.
