I have two Railroad Brake hoses out upon my patio along with a Century switch stand and some other railroad memorabilia.
One of the these hoses measures 1 3/4" O.D. and is marked C&NW Ry Co.
The other measures 1 7/8" O.D. is a Dayco Gold Label M601-76
The larger one I believe to be a standard air brake hose. The smaller one was used as a Diesel MU hose. This I was told to me by an active railroad engineer.
