Re: caboose question

Hi Group,
The T&P also used "marker paddles" since the kerosene marker lights kept disappearing. They quit using them in the 1960s after a disasterous accident and then went to electrical lamps. So what's the NYC connection?

The TP was a subsidiary of the MoPac which was itself controlled by the NYC's parent company, so some cross-pollination probably occurred. Oddly enough, the MoPac kept its marker lamps until cabooses were rebuilt with blinking red lights on the ends of the cabooses.
