I wonder how long these interior grab irons on slope sheets lasted on hoppers given the wear and tear during loading and unloading.

I was surprised to see row of grab irons on the slope sheets in a USRA
hopper at the Penn state railroad museum in Strassberg. I checked a
CBC reprint (maybe 1925?) and found the grabs in the plans.

I was a little surprised that these never showed up in models like the
Tichy cars.
