Jim, if I understand the history correctly, Chicago Railway Equipment Company (Creco) set up the Superior Door subsidiary to market the welded version of the door. Except for perhaps a brief transition period, welded doors of this design were all Superior doors. The Cycs of the period show the transition in company names quite clearly. Moreover, Creco continued to market the riveted door under the original name.
