The Santa Fe cars had eight rung ladders on the sides, seven rung
ladders on the ends. >Hand brakes were Ajax; Santa Fe hardly ever
used any other make of power hand brake.

Thanks Richard, I got the ladders right (as far as the number of rungs
anyway), I will change the brake wheel when I get home. I ended up
with a P2K "Quick Kit", so I had to pop most of the work they had done
for me off. The hand brake was all attached. I broke it once, I can
break it again.
