Are these Thomas models actually of ~8K (in total) tanks vs. the
common 10k plastic models out there?

Not sure if you care, Justin, but IIRC the Thomas cars
have a
General American underframe. Tank car underframes are usually
diagnostic of their builder's standard design, so you need to know
not
only if Sinclair had 3-dome cars but from which builder. Again,
only if
you care about that aspect.
