There are many books that I wouldn’t have read if I hadn't seen them
referred to on this list and recommending a book isn’t the same as telling
someone to buy a copy.

Most people will also have the option of requesting a copy of a specific
book through an inter-library loan if their local public library doesn’t
have one available. Of course, if you’re in the darkest jungles of Borneo,
shipwrecked on the Falkland Islands or on a hiking tour round Malawi you may
have a problem finding some titles.
