I will add that the SAL car built using the Red Caboose car is covered in the article in PRM Vol. 2 (link: http://www.speedwitch.com/Journal.htm) and that the doors used on the model (as well as the Soo car) will be available as separate parts within the next few weeks (certainly by the Sunshine meet in LA.)
