The Amstar plant in Baltimore, Md. still ships sugar in covered
hoppers, just not as much as they used to. The tank cars are for
liquified sugar, which Amstar ships quite a bit of. A side line of
their refining process is molasses, now going by truck. The Baltimore
plant dates from the 1920's, so is a mix of old brick and newer sheet
